Curse Your Lips edition by Imogen Karo Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I thought I knew how the story was going to end, but it was a surprise. I didn't see it going there. So it was nice that the story wasn't predictable. It did leave me wanting to know more, it seemed like the kind of idea better suited for a full-length novel, or a novella, at least. But sometimes it's good to be left with questions.

***Cassandra Delorie #NerdGirlLola’s Review***
This has to be the weirdest thing I have ever read. Let’s start with the length, its only 21 pages (19 pages on , and 25 pages on Goodreads), so it qualifies as a short story. As a reviewer this is the shortest work I have ever read, it took me about 5 minutes to read it. BUT it was a long five minutes due to the fact that I was trying to figure out just what the f*** was actually going on.
This whole thing feels like it was unfinished and possibly written under a deadline that couldn’t be met. For me it really bounces around more then a short story should and doesn’t really finish a coherent thought throughout.
I would like say that the erotic scenes saved it but even those were off putting and awkward. Like many others I like a little pain with my pleasure, but when it is described as “excruciating pain” I think that delves into a realm far beyond me.
Overall I would not recommend this to anyone; it’s confusing and a little disturbing.

Sometimes when I read a short story I'm not happy with how the author ends it. The ending on this was good. It's the beginning that I thought was a little weak. It was like you were thrown into a story already being told and you missed the first chapter. The erotica felt like an afterthought. A weak start but all and all a decent read for a short story.

My Thoughts
I have never purchased a short story of 19 pages from a book supplier, although I have read books containing a number of Poems/short stories before, and I have nothing against these short stories, I am well aware that an author may get inspiration to write something that doesn't turn into a full blown Novella or Novel.
So here are my thoughts on Curse Your Lips...
This short story is Fantasy Erotica - Its 99c ( this is the lowest price you can set for a book on ) and fair enough if you are happy to purchase 19 pages at this price, but I have paid this for stories that have a beginning middle and end/cliff hanger for the next installment. So I would have passed if I was purchasing this myself.
There isn't much background on the lead character the story starts in the middle of an erotic dream... it is not a Love story, it contains sexual acts that cause pain to the female, but other than the male character being 'Otherworldly' its nothing different from Erotica I have read before.
The writing flows well, I saw no grammatical errors - but its been published via Hot Ink Press An Imprint of Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing. So you would expect that it had been properly edited.
Astrid is being haunted by a man who makes violent love to her in her dreams. When she meets him one night in real life, he asks to have her...and a friend.
But with a "man" named Curse, is Astrid in for more than she bargained for?
Curse Your Lips by Imogen Karo, published by Hot Ink Press, is a short tale of desire and death. It features a completely original creature and situation, offset by very common women, and that gives it a certain je na ses qoi you don't really see in modern paranormal erotica.
It's about obsession, sex and what you're willing to give up to have your heart's desire. I enjoyed it, but I'm now very curious about just where, exactly, Curse took Astrid!
4/5--unique and wickedly sexy!
What can I say? I am certainly glad that this was offered for free on ! It seemed that the entire thing was one very long unending sentence! The idea or plot was a good one but there were far too many adjectives thrown in and the entire story became a jumbled mess!
Wow! Loved reading this. Imogen Karo is a great storyteller in this book, I look forward to reading more!
